On achieving a balance between her professional life and staying in shape she says “Staying in shape keeps my mind settled and calm because I’m hyper,” she says with a chuckle. “It relieves tension. I thank the universe for giving me a healthy body—I realize everyone isn’t as lucky. I show my gratitude by eating right, exercising and taking care of myself every day. Music is a regular part of her exercise routine—mainly electronic music, but also Macklemore, Daddy Yankee and Eminem. More recently, she plays her demo recordings, lately one called “Mariposas,” to help give her ideas on how to develop the song. “I can’t exercise without music. It keeps me going. It’s amazing how music can be so motivating,” she says.
Apart from winning two Latin Grammy nominations for “Lo Mejor De Mi Vida Eres Tu” duet with Ricky Martin in 2011, two Grammy with La Quinta Estación, Jimenez kicked off last year with a Premio Lo Nuestro Award for “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” and a nomination for 2012 Latin Billboards in the category Female Artist of the Year, Album.
Jimenez participated on her first solo concert at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in 2012 and continued touring the world with her music visiting countries like Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Italy and Chile and has sang in front of thousands of fans in prestigious Radio City Music Hall & Madison Square Garden.
Natalia recently released another hit duet, this time alongside singer Daddy Yankee in “La Noche de Los Dos”, single that has reached an incredible reach of over 31 million views in YouTube. Natalia also collaborated in the much anticipated album “Y Si Fueran Ellas”; album to release this coming 19 of November, that gathers a group of female interpreters singing songs from Spanish singer/songwriter Alejandro Sanz. Natalia has the opportunity to record the song “Amiga Mia”.
Natalia Jimenez is right now finalizing all details for the launch of her second solo album scheduled to be released early 2014 worldwide.
